100 WAYS IN 100 DAYS TO BETTER HEALTH

100 years ago, the American Heart Association was founded in 1924. From humble beginnings, the AHA has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Our mission is to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. Until heart disease and stroke are stories of our past, not our future, our relentless pursuit will continue.

Week 1 Tips:

Sunday

Be Well: Start your 100 Days by calculating your Heart Score with My Health Check. This will help you assess your risk for heart disease and stroke.

Monday

Eat Better: Make it fun for kids to try new fruits and veggies! Have your kids pick one fruit or vegetable at the store and look up ways to prepare it together.

Tuesday

Move More: Set a Goal. Make a commitment like being active for at least 150 minutes each week. Share this goal with someone in your life who will help to keep you accountable.

Wednesday

Be Well: Good sleep habits and an effective morning routine can help you wake up feeling energized and prepared for the day ahead. Try these tips and techniques to start your day right.

Thursday

Eat Better: Keeping a Healthy Body Weight begins with changing your eating habits. Sometimes you may experience a lapse, where you momentarily go back to old habits. Other times you may relapse when those old habits persist for days or weeks. Neither means failure. You can always get back on track.

Friday

Be Well: Know what makes blood sugar rise. Find out how glucose and insulin work in your body to help ensure you have a healthy blood sugar level.

Saturday

Move More: Tips for those who hate exercise. Walk or jog in place, do yoga, or lift weights while you watch your must see TV. Learn more about how you can make regular activity part of your life, which can help you have more energy, handle stress better, reduce your risk of illness and disease, and look and feel good!
